One of the things I like to do is coincide the playback of the famed Concerts for Bangladesh with the original concert start times (they started at noon and 7 PM local time, I believe). Perhaps you’re and IT Pro or sysadmin looking to coordinate the time on all of your systems around the world. Either way, you may want to take note of the following change in Bangladesh.

According to an announcement from the Bangladesh government, the Bangladesh cabinet decided to advance Bangladesh Standard Time by one hour from 23:00:00 June 19th, 2009 to save electricity during evening peak hours. No DST end date has been announced at the time of this release. There was no DST for Bangladesh prior to this announcement.
This hotfix adds a new (GMT +06:00) Dhaka time zone with the following DST settings:
- DST starts at 23:00:00 on June 19th, 2009 and will continue until end of 2009
- Bias will change to UTC+7 in 2010 with no DST
Note: When the Bangladesh government announces the final DST policy, a further update will be required.
